Major oil and gas pipelines that traverse Abia State include the Shell Nigeria Gas (SNG) 20km domestic gas pipeline expansion project designed to connect and supply gas to Agbor Hill, Ossioma and Araria industrial zones.

Also, Nestoil group, an indigenous Engineering, Procurement and Construction Company, EPC, had completed the construction and commissioning of a set of pipeline loops that provide feedgas to the Alaoji gas plant. The pipeline includes the 18-inch-3.2 km Class 600 gas pipeline at Alaoji, and the 18-inch-0.9km class 600 gas pipeline at Owaza, all in Abia State.

Finally, there is a 27-kilometre gas pipeline from Owaza in Ukwa West Local Council to the Osisioma Industrial Layout on the Aba outskirts to feed the Geometric 188 MW gas fired power plant.
